Scrapbooking in May: Layouts

I made a goal at the beginning of the year to read more. Now I think I am getting a little obsessed! I have been spending most of my spare time doing that instead of scrapping, but I still found a little bit of time this month to get some things done.

I am excited for Summer to begin and hoping that there will be more time to get crafty. So far, all my weekends look pretty busy in June! I still need to get through the rest of my Hip Kit and May Counterfeit Kit.

Scrapbooking in May: Challenge 34

I turned to my Challenge Jar instead of the usual NSD challenges.

Use smaller photos

I pulled out some papers from my 100 patterned papers and went to town with random things I could find on my desk. The challenge on 100 patterned papers is to use some washi tape this month so I grabbed some and all sorts of wood things. The photos look dark here but it is my son dressed up as Harry Potter. He is running around a wooden playground that looks like a castle (Hogwarts) with his magic wand.

NSD Scrapbooking

So I went through all the NSD challenges on the usual sites I follow but I just wasn't feeling inspired. I don't know why! Maybe because I haven't scrapped much lately or there were other things to get done today. I ended up pulling out the rest of my April Counterfeit Kit (Something There) and a few pieces from the 100 patterned papers and made a few random pages. At least I'm getting some stuff done!

iNSD 2017 Challenge 1

It's International Scrapbook Day! I am trying to play along with some of the challenges on various groups. Here is one where we needed to Scraplift ourselves, hosted by Paper Issues on Facebook.

Here is my original, randomly selected from an album chosen by my husband:

And here is the new one, using my April Counterfeit Kit Something There. I used a picture of my lovely in-laws on a hay ride.

May Counterfeit Kit Reveal

The beginning of May just passed me by so quickly! I did put together a May Counterfeit Kit, but I am still working on my April one. I wanted to show off the kit but I will not be using it until a little bit later this month, probably.

The kit was inspired by the Gossamer Blue March Kit.

Isn't it lovely? All those blues make me swoon!

Here is the kit that I came up with, inspired by the kit above. I call it Something Just Like This. (the song stuck in my head at the moment, haha)

Scrapbooking in May: Sketch Challenge

I found a sketch challenge on the Hip Kits Club member forum. I used more of my April Counterfeit Kit, Something There, to make mine. I love how it turned out. I'm excited by the green and using so much of the heart paper I liked.

Scrapbooking in May: Challenge 33

Vacation is over, my tests are all over. It is time to get back into the crafty side of life. I have so many goals for the Spring time (spring cleaning, reading challenge) but nothing makes me happier than scrapbooking!

The next challenge from the Challenge Jar is to

Use lots of banners/pennants

I used my April Counterfeit Kit Something There for this challenge.

I grabbed a few of my mom's punches. She has this great one that cuts two different kinds of triangles, perfect for making a banner. When I visited Epcot recently, I loved all the stringed lights and banners going back and forth in the little countries. I wanted to mimic it for this page, even though this picture was taken at Sesame Place!
