I swear I've been crafting, just haven't done many challenges lately. I've been doing this thing where I make a ton of page kits using supplies I desperately need to use up (currently 6x6 paper pads and 6x12 sticker sheets) and then make all the pages (record-timing fast) and it has been working for me. But I was running low on ideas so I came across Paper Issues and they had a wonderful crop on their Facebook page. I made a ton of layouts and fell in love with the challenge once more Here is my response to their current sketch challenge.
So much inspiration there. Happy to have come across it.
This week on shimelle.com there was a challenge to scrapbook on a light patterned background. I used this grid paper from Crate Paper's On Trend collection and then some pieces from the Maggie Holmes collection. I used mist to make splatters in an aqua color, then used the cap that had ink all over it to make a few rings.
I am taking Shimelle's new class Return to the Collection and am loving it so far. It got me scrapping right away. Here is a layout I did using her class and following along with the prompts.
I highly recommend her classes. They're so much fun!
My challenge to myself today was to use some branding strips on my page and to use these old snow flakes from Jolee's that I had. I mixed it in with some Crate Paper and Studio Calico papers along with some papers from a 6 x 6 pad and a 3 x 4 journaling card.
I wanted to use some scraps I had in my scrap bin and some new die cuts and background paper I got for Christmas. I like all the repeating patterns and colors here. Also, I love those enamel hearts! I can't resist using 3x4 cards on my layouts.
