Scrapbooking in March: Challenge 20

Today's Challenge Jar Challenge:

Scrapbook where you live

I live in a twin and don't have very many pictures of my whole house, but I did stumble upon this picture of my front porch. My niece played a prank on me and put streamers all over my porch and stairs so I couldn't get to my door! She was a very sneaky four year old! I had fun telling the story for this challenge.

Using my January Hip Kit for the next Jar Challenge:

Use Someone Else's Handwriting

My thoughts immediately went to something I have been wanting to try: using the silhouette to cut out a sentiment written by my grandmother from one of the cards I had saved. It was tedious, but I'm glad I finally did it!

The papers and tag also had a script/handwritten font on them that really went with my theme. I used butterflies throughout the page and popped up their wings on pop dots.

It was hard to glue this all down! I need one of those thin glue applicators I think. Another trip to the craft store is in my near future.

Scrapbooking in March: Scraplift Challenge

Paper Issues had a great layout on their facebook page to Scraplift for a challenge. It had a white background and quite a few patterned papers layered in the middle of the page with a single portrait photo in the middle. I was excited about the stack of patterned papers because it made me want to use some 6x6 pads I have.

Along with my papers I used up an old St. Patrick's Day sticker sheet I had in my stash. I think it is fun mixing the modern designer scrapbooking supplies with the older supplies I have from craft stores. It makes me feel like I didn't waste the money, anyway!

Scrapbooking in March: Counterfeit Kit

This month's Counterfeit Kit is from the February Hip Kit, which I happen to subscribe to!

The last time this happened, I ended up making a giant kit, pulling out papers and embellishments similar to what I had int he kit. This time around, I decided to make a dent in my 6x6 paper pads and pull out lots of die cuts to go with it.

Here is my March Counterfeit Kit, Lovesick:

Scrapbooking in March: Product Spotlight

Paper Issues was having another Product Spotlight challenge, this time with Shimelle's Little By Little. I found the 12x12 paper pad at Joann's and had a coupon to use so I was excited to get it at a good price!

I've managed to use all of the animals in this collection so far, once for a zoo layout and this time for a layout about an indoor fun center we went to that was animal themed.

I love the word sheet in the collection. It happened to have some words I wanted to use on the layout so I cut them right out. I kept the embellishments simple because the animals and camera were so large.

Scrapbooking in March: Product Spotlight

This challenge was also on the Paper Issues Facebook Group.

The challenge was to use the Dear Lizzy Lovely Day collection. I just happened to stumble upon the 12x12 paper pad at Joann's recently so I thought I'd better use some fast! I struggle using something I just bought right away. I'm not sure why, but I'm happy this challenge made me use it!

Scrapbooking in March: Cut File Challenge

The next challenge comes from Paper Issues Facebook Group and you had to use one of the cut files from the Paper Issues store. They have so many great free ones on their website. I had cut this Happy New Year one out in January and never used it. It was sitting on my desk and I wasn't sure what papers to use with it. This challenge got me to use it and I used up a sticker sheet, too! Very exciting when you finally use something up.
