Scrapbooking in January: Collection Highlight 2

Today I did a layout with Shimelle's 2nd Collection: True Stories. I used a sketch from Hip Kits facebook challenge to use up some of my stash.

Out of all of her collections, this is actually the one I have used the most, even though it wasn't my favorite of hers! Other layouts I've done previously using this kit include:

Scrapbooking in January: Counterfeit Kit Layout 4

This is a sketch challenge from Paper Issues. I used my January Counterfeit kit to complete the challenge. I do love a good sketch challenge. This is the first one I've done this year!

I am really killing this Counterfeit Kit! I might have to pull out my next Hip Kit soon!

Scrapbooking in January: Using a Cut File

Paper Issues Facebook Group was hosting a Cut It Up Challenge where you used one of their January free cut files and made a page. I made this photo-less page to write down all my goals for 2017 (and beyond... I'm not fooling anyone). I keep a spreadsheet of my yearly goals and wishes but it was fun to write it out for a layout.

I think I am finally getting the hang of the Silhouette. It took long enough for me to get it! haha!

Scrapbooking in January: Challenge 5

The next challenge from my challenge jar is to

Use a TV Show as Inspiration

Right away I thought of Sailor Moon. I went digging through my supplies that are character related and found a few pieces that I had specific to my favorite childhood show. I knew what picture I wanted but needed to print it out still. As I was sorting through my stash I noticed the many Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles clothing tags I saved and the 5 papers I had from a scrapbooking convention years ago that I wasn't sure how to use. I remembered that I already had a lot of pictures printed from my son's fourth birthday party which happened to be TMNT themed. I quickly changed direction and ended up using all of those papers to make 5 simple layouts to go together!

January Scrapbooking: Collection Highlight

Shimelle is showing off her previous collections this week and inspired me to use some that I have in my stash. Using the first collection, I made this layout below.

I've made a lot of layouts with this collection. Here are some I found in the couple of albums I flipped through. I didn't have enough time to flip through them all!

Inspired by one of Shimelle's designs! her blog has a ton of inspiration.

Scrapbooking in January: Counterfeit Kit Layout 3

The next challenge I did was one of the "pick 5" from Paper Issues facebook group. I used my Counterfeit Kit for January to make the layout.

The pictures of my son's Kindergarten Jr. Winter Show were terrible. I had the heads of other parents in all the shots covering up the kids' feet and on the sides of the shots. So many people were there trying to get their pictures in and all I had was my phone. I still wanted to have a layout in my album, though - especially the cute air hug my son gave me from stage.

Scrapbooking in January: Counterfeit Kit Layout 2

Moving on to another Paper Issues Facebook Challenge. I used my Counterfeit Kit  "Tip of the Iceberg" for the challenge, which was to be inspired by a winter-themed quote they posted.
