Dream Big Love: Using Arrows

This week on Shimelle.com the challenge was to use arrows in your layout

I used lots of arrows on patterned paper to make this layout. Most of the paper is from the Recorded line from Allison Kreft for Webster's Pages.

I'm getting very excited for NSD this weekend! I wrote down lots of challenges from various websites that I'm hoping to work on depending on how much free time I get!

Bonkers: Using Vellum

For the weekly challenge this week on Shimelle's Blog, we were challenged to use vellum on our layout. Luckily I have quite a few pieces in my scraps to use up. I used lots of papers from the True Stories collection and some fantastic Scotch patterned tape my mother gifted me recently.

Newly Engaged!

The Weekly Challenge on Shimelle's blog is using a sketch. I've definitely used this sketch before but I'm not even sure where the layout is in my many books I have so I can't compare the one I just did with it. If I find it I will update the post. I have been using quite a few sketches lately so this was no problem!

This picture is a few years old so the lovely couple in the pictures are happily married now. They were standing on the starting line in the Stadium in Olympia in this picture.

I have to say I just love using this pinked circle. It adds a nice touch.

Hello There Funny Face

Shimelle's Weekly Challenge this week was to use a black and white photo.

I have been holding onto this picture for a while, knowing that I wanted to use all those mustache papers and embellishments I had. Of course I had to hunt down all of those items in my stash but I found a good amount to use. This was just the motivation I needed to get it done!

I used a lot from Glitz Dapper Dan collection. It has very good colors for more masculine themes. Sometimes you want to use those! Most of the time I just use pinks and blues anyway.  I suppose Glitz Designs has vanished. I can't find any information on them.

Lovely Home

Just barely made it with this challenge on Shimelle's blog to use maps and globes as inspiration. I've had this Dear Lizzy Tic Tac Toe paper from the Daydreamer collection for a while and it was poking out of my stash calling my name for this challenge. This is a picture I took the week we moved in to our fantastic neighborhood. The map made me think of Google Maps, which I used when we were house shopping so I could see the area.

Skills

Chris recently learned to tie his shoes! It was a big important day and I'm so glad I was able to get it documented before I forgot all the details. He was so proud of himself for figuring it out and I was so happy for him.

The challenge is from Shimelle's Weekly Challenge. This week she asked what our favorite color was (mine is green) and we could use that color to make a monochromatic page. I've never done one with so much green so this was fun. I chose the pictures because he was very specific about wanting those green shoes for Christmas. They just had to be green.

Big News

Today's layout is for this week's challenge on Shimelle's Blog to scrapbook with old and new supplies. I used bits from Shimelle's Starshine collection and some older Magge Holmes stickers, an old Maternity sticker set from Me & My Big Ideas Soft Spoken, very old paper from a 12x12 pad I bought from Michael's years ago, a quote from an old book of quotes I also bought a craft store years ago, and some pink gems. I love mixing old and new items together! Especially when I get to use things from my first days of scrapping.

Selfie Challenge

Today I'm sharing my response to Shimelle's Selfie Challenge by scrapbooking a page with a selfie in it on my travel to Arkansas in 2008. The papers are from different Crate Paper collections.

I'm excited to start sharing my work again!
