Scrapbooking in January: Counterfeit Kit Layout 1

I busted out my January Counterfeit Kit, Tip of the Iceberg, to complete a challenge from a Facebook group. I made sure there was winter themed items in this kit and it worked out for a snowy day picture.

I don't normally use the Silhouette for titles on the scrapbook pages but I was very happy to give it a try.

Scrapbooking in January: Challenge 4

The next challenge from my challenge jar was to

Scrap a picture that is over 10 years old

I had plenty of pictures to chose from that I was actually alive for but I liked this picture of my parents all dressed up for Halloween before they were married so I went with this. They are so cute.

I am loving the jar challenges but want to move on to some online challenges as well so I am going to get working on those next with my kits!

Scrapbooking in January: Challenge 3

Working my way through the Jar Challenges I am now on Challenge # 3 of 2017.

Use Pastels

I guess I tend to use a lot of brights and neutrals. I never really think about it. This time I made sure to use some pastels though.

I used more of my October Hip Kit. I have a few pieces of it left but I think I'm going to put it all in my stash and focus on my Counterfeit Kit for a bit.

Scrapbooking in January: Challenge 2

The next challenge out of the jar is:

Create a background with paint and cardstock

I grabbed some white card stock and some watercolor crayons and got to work on a simple blended rainbow.

The little Sesame Street guys on here are actually cut out pieces from clothes and toys the boy had when he was little. I tend to save some of those thinking they will be useful for a page in the future. I used the gold thickers from my October Hip Kit but little else from any of my kits. I used a lot of scraps I had sitting below my desk in a baggie.

Scrapbooking in January - Challenge 1

I have collected quite a few challenge jars over the years. Right now I am working on one that my sisters and I put together a few years ago. One of my goals this year is to get through a good chunk of them. Here is the first challenge.

Make a Mini Album

I didn't use my kits for this one because I found an old mini album I was working on years ago in my stash of minis. I decided to finally finish it. It was a small chipboard album I wanted to let my son use when he was a toddler so he could recognize his extended family. I didn't embellish them, just had some ribbons on there and a front and back cover. It was supposed to be suitable for a toddler. I finished the album and I am pleased. Here are a couple of the pages.

Scrapbooking in January

It's a new year!! Yay!

This week I am working with my October Hip Kit. I had taken a break from Scrapbooking for most of December since I was so busy with daily activities with my family. Now I can get back into the swing of things and catch up on some of my kits.

I adore this kit. It has navys and such pretty blues and pinks. Gold accents were available in the thickers and the ephemera pack. I have made a few pages earlier on in November with the kit but I still have a lot left to work on. Here are two layouts I just made with the kit.

January 1st was the other day and the new Counterfeit Kit is up! I'm excited to get started with it. I am hoping to complete some challenges using the kit and some other things around the room.

Here is the inspiration:

And here is my take, called Tip of the Iceberg:

I focused on the different shades of blues, some naturals, and lots of extra pieces to use. I am happy with it and how lovely those colors are!

Pumpkin Love

I've been having so much fun this Autumn with all of the traditional things to do and spending quality time with the family. I needed to get back into crafting again so these pictures have somewhere to go! But I'm determined to scrap some old photos first. Here is one from 6 years ago and I am working on one of Shimelle's challenges to use Autumn Colors.
